Barney was a bashful bullfrog, he was very sad
All day long he sat upon his great big lily pad
Now Barney never had a girl because he was too shy
So when evening rolled around the tears would dim his eyes
He′d go croak, croak, croak, croak, croaking all night long
Croak, croak, croak, croak, it was a lonesome song
And though the moon was shining bright, romance never found him
Barney the bashful bullfrog, too shy to look around him
Then one day he was a-sittin' on a hollow log
Hopping down the path, he saw a pretty lady frog
She had such a lovely smile and great big eyes of blue
And when she stopped and winked at him, he didn′t know what to do
So he went croak, croak, croak, croak, as his face turned red
Croak, croak, croak, croak, the lady frog then said
"You have such a manly voice, the kind of which I'm fond
Why don't we croak together beside the lily pond?"
And so they spent the days together on the lily pad
And though he was too shy to show it, Barney was so glad
And every night when fireflies came out to look around
They would hear them singing together on the pond
And they went croak, croak, croak, croak, their voices rang so clear
Croak, croak, croak, croak, and everyone could hear
And so they sang together each night upon the shore
And Barney the bashful bullfrog wasn′t lonesome anymore
Now Barney was so bashful, he wouldn′t pop the question
And so they finally married at the lady frog's suggestion
They were so happy as they swim around the mud hole
It wasn′t long until they had a lot of little tadpoles
And they went croak, croak, croak
Croak, they sang the whole night through
Croak, croak, croak, croak, it was a happy tune
And if you open up your eyes, you'll be happy too
Like Barney the bashful bullfrog, you′ll find someone for you
