Ava Max "Christmas Wonderland": A Christmas Album on the Way
Ava Max gives Christmas a dance-pop makeover with her new single "Christmas Wonderland". Released on November 6, 2026, the track combines falling snow, silver stars and a club-inspired atmosphere. It also arrives as the singer works on a full Christmas album featuring several collaborations.
Ava Max puts Christmas on the dance floor
Forget the traditional picture of Christmas by the fireplace. In "Christmas Wonderland", Ava Max takes the festivities to a dance floor filled with music, lights and people celebrating late into the night. The opening line,
"In the middle of the floor, in the middle of the night"
establishes the setting immediately. Rather than telling a detailed Christmas story, the song focuses on a festive party and the people gathered there. The chorus introduces its most distinctive images:
"technicolor snow"
falling beneath silver stars resembling a mirrorball. The combination of winter scenery and nightclub decoration gives the track its particular visual identity.
What makes the lyrics different?
Music and dancing remain at the centre of the song. The driving bassline and steady beat keep the focus on the dance floor, while the verses bring in the cold, grey weather beyond the party.
Ava Max also includes familiar Christmas details such as mistletoe, laughter and the North Star. These references help establish the seasonal setting without turning the lyrics into a conventional Christmas story. One particularly direct line is
"No one's a stranger in here"
It accompanies the invitation to join the gathering, where everyone shares the same music. The lyrics also mention people with broken hearts joining the dancing, although they provide no further details about their circumstances.
A Christmas album is already in the works
The release comes as Ava Max prepares a larger holiday project. In a July 2026 interview with Rolling Stone, the singer confirmed that she was working on a Christmas album featuring numerous collaborations. The announcement gives "Christmas Wonderland" additional release context.
The single arrives while Ava Max is developing a collection dedicated to Christmas music, rather than appearing as an entirely isolated seasonal release. A complete tracklist, participating artists and an official album release date have not been confirmed. It is also unclear whether "Christmas Wonderland" will feature on the planned album.
Ava Max - "Christmas Wonderland"
How does it compare with her earlier Christmas songs?
"Christmas Wonderland" is Ava Max's third original Christmas release. She previously introduced "Christmas Without You" in 2020 and followed it with "1 Wish" in 2024. The three songs have distinct lyrical subjects. "Christmas Without You" focuses on missing someone during the holidays, while "1 Wish" centres on a Christmas wish.
The 2026 single takes a different direction, making a communal celebration its central subject. This growing catalogue also provides context for the upcoming album. AvaMax has already explored different sides of Christmas in her earlier releases, and the new project gives her an opportunity to expand that collection with further original material and collaborations.
