"Take You On A Cruise" mean, it′s
It's like people ask you often like, what are your favorite songs?
Yeah, it′s really an honest answer, like I really don't personally have them
And that's the reason why we are, I look at our
You know, our band is like an albums band
Because it′s really, each song really has its purpose
Under the umbrella of ten or eleven songs
They really, you know, each one has its place
Whether it′s track two, three or four, five, six, seven
They have, you know, they have its purpose
But 'Take You On A Cruise′, I do have a bit of a special fondness and
A part of the actual composition, but then there's also that like
You know, there′s a memory I have
Of actually listening to this song while we're recording it
And ahem, essentially we, everything was tracked
All the music was already like recorded
And then we′re kind of at the 11th hour as far as mixing it
And Paul is still kind of like working on vocal ideas 'til the very, very end
And I remember we were actually at the studio called Tarkin Studios
Where we recorded and mix, the first two records up in Connecticut
And I remember Peter, who was, you know
The engineer and the owner of the studio
We went up one morning to like kind of start
Mixing 'Take You On A Cruise′ and we still hadn′t heard the vocals yet
And we're kind of like, ahem you know, what′s it going to be like?
And those moments are like, you know, it's kind of
It′s kind of crazy moments to go to start mixing the song
And not know what the, what the vocal is going to be like
Ahem, and we're really at a time, you know
The deadline when we had to kind of finish the album
But then we heard what Paul had recorded the night before
And it was like such a pleasing euphoric moment
Where it was like so incredible
And to this day, like, it′s like, it goes from being like
'I wonder what it's gonna be like′
To all of a sudden just being, ′relief' again, would not be the right word
It′d be more of like, just like, I was elated, you know, I was like so excited
And it was just like, it was like, I just kind of wanna
You know, want to keep, kept on hearing it over and over again
I just wanted to press play and it was incredible
So then to all of a sudden
Then I think we probably mix it all in that one day
So you go from experience of not knowing the vocals
Which is the most recognizable element on a song right
By the end of it like having a finished song
By the end of day having a finished song, you know mix was
It was something that I still remember
I still remember it being like sunny outside
'Cause it was like a skylight in the studio and
And I had a very similar experience
For a song that we didn′t record today
But on the new record 'Same Town, New Story′ where
I came in one day and Paul just did like
Incredible work bass-wise and vocal-wise
And just came out of left field as far as
Where I had heard the song previously
And it just was I was like again like he laid it
So, those kinds of moments where
You have like a surprise, and it's like really like
Oh man, this is just, I didn't see it′s coming
But I′m just you know super excited by where
Where, where we, where we've taken it, ahem
So take care on a cruise really has that moment for me
