Moisés guió a los hijos de Dios en busca de la tierra prometida.
Moses led God′s children out to find the promised land
Y en el camino, se detenía cada día y miraba al cielo y
And on the way, he'd stop each day and look to heaven and
Le pidió ayuda a Dios, ya que no podía soportar la tarea solo.
Asked God for help as he could not withstand the task alone
Y entonces, un día, apartó la mirada y con ello puso una piedra.
And then one day, he looked away and thereby lay a stone
Dios dijo: «Escribe en esta piedra estas palabras que te digo».
God said, "Write upon this stone, these words I say to you
Y si todos obedecéis mis reglas, os guiaré a salvo hasta el final.
And if you all obey my rules, I′ll see you safely through"
Dios abrió la puerta del cielo y luego guió las manos de Moisés.
God opened heaven's door and then He guided Moses' hands
Y entonces dijo: «Id y decid a mis hijos que estos son mis mandamientos».
And then He said, "Go and tell my children, these are my commands"

Go and climb that mountain, Moses
Sube a esa montaña ahora y reza.
Climb that mountain now and pray
Sube a esa montaña ahora y cuéntanos

Lo que nuestro Señor ha dicho
What our Lord has had to say

No tendrás dioses delante de mí; este es mi gran mandato.
Thou shalt have no Gods before me is my great command
Y no harás ninguna imagen tallada por tu mano.
And thou shalt not make any graven image by thy hand
No tomarás mi nombre en vano si quieres ser inocente.
Thou shalt not take my name in vain if thou would guiltless be
Acuérdate de guardar el día de reposo para mí.
Remember thou to keep the sabbath day alone for me
Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, y no matarás.
Honor thy father and thy mother and thou shalt not kill
No cometerás adulterio ni robarás.
Thou shalt not commit adultery and thou shalt not steal
Ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo y muéstrale la paz.
Love thy neighbor as thyself and show thy neighbor peace
No codiciarás la casa de tu prójimo ni nada que sea suyo.
Covet not thy neighbor′s house nor anything that′s his

Moisés les mostró estas palabras de Dios a todos los niños entonces.
Moses showed these words of God to all the children then
Levantaron sus estacas y partieron en busca de la tierra prometida.
They pulled up stakes and headed out to find the promised land
Que Moisés les había descrito y les había hablado de las comodidades que había allí.
That Moses had described to them and told of comforts there
Los hijos de la opresión pensaron que no encontrarían ningún lugar
The children of oppression thought they'd not find anywhere
Pero pronto se separarían de él y seguirían solos un rato.
But they were soon to part from him and push alone awhile
Porque nunca estuvo destinado a que él recorriera ese último tramo.
For it was never meant for him to walk that final mile
Los niños lloraron preguntando si debíamos seguir adelante, Moisés, sin ti.
The children cried if we must go on Moses without you
Entonces habla con Dios una vez más y dinos qué hacer.
Then talk to God just one more time and tell us what to do
