Before eating, washing, starting a journey or beginning any job

It helps us to realise that food comes from
Plantas e animais que foram criados por Alá
Plants and animals which were created by Allah
Eles beberam água da chuva que Ele envia
They drank water from the rain that He sends down
Aquecido pelo sol brilhante que Ele faz nascer
Warmed by the bright sun that He causes to rise
Tudo isso é feito para nos dar o alimento de que nossos corpos precisam
All this is done in order to give us the food which our bodies need
Então, ao dizer bismillah, mostramos que somos gratos pela misericórdia de Allah.
So by saying bismillah we show that we're thankful for Allah′s mercy
Guiando-nos e mantendo-nos vivos e saudáveis
By guiding us and keeping us alive and healthy
